Early Spring

Musical Palindrome for String Quartet.

Short musical idea, perfectly reversable musical palindrome, as proven in the "reversed" file. 

It tries to capture the vibe of a day in early spring (hence the name). Initial darker, more nostalgic part feels like a chilly, almost winter morning, which then evolves into optimism and lightness of a warm, sunny day, and ends again with a cold stillness of the night.

In context of OST, one can't really run away from regal connotations of string quartet. Usage would be for a rather low-stakes levels within castle/palace, preferably some regal gardens for a better match.  Not much of a battle, action-packed theme, but it still invokes slight uneasiness, intrigue, maybe some court mystery?

The piece layers and loops decently, so it's perfectly usable. There are also quite a few places where you can reverse it "on the fly" (should you want to; some short time travelling mechanics, maybe?), and it will be fine.

A lot of composing compromises had to be made for this piece to sound the same when reversed. I am hower quite satisfied with the result, so I might remake it soon, unbound by reversability constraint. Stay tuned if you'd be interested in that :)
